Using cinema 4D, I created my own interpretation of the song Relax by Rezz. After listening to the song, I decided that it was a representation of going back and forth from a state of relaxation to one of anxiety.
I wanted to start and end the music video entering a space that feels familiar yet uncomfortable, to set the tone for the contrasting feelings I aimed to elicit. Since there is a cyclical nature to being stressed and then calming down, I wanted to abstract the circle as many ways as possible. Following the up and down pacing of the song, the circle’s abstraction bounces from chaotic to more simplistic.
